Clough Bottom Trees and Shrubs

Make your garden instantly appealing with the elegance of our semi-mature trees and shrubs

EvergreenAs a child, a tree was the perfect natural climbing frame. Remember that joyful feeling as you reached the upper bending branches and the invigorating sense of freedom when, like a bird, you viewed the splendour of your stomping ground down below - master of all you surveyed!

Now, a little taller but still with a keen eye for natural beauty, you can see the same tree from the ground view and appreciate it’s permanence, longevity and continued ability to inspire awe within you. A tree that was planted many years before you were here, that will continue stretching towards the sky, long after you’ve ceased to reminisce about how you could once reach the top of that solid trunk.

Clough BottomAs well as a sense of continuity and appreciation for natural beauty, the semi-mature field-grown trees & shrubs here at Clough Bottom, will provide shelter, shade and aesthetics to a garden scene or landscaping project. We have visitors from all over the UK who come for inspiration and practical advice.

We offer a stunning spectrum of over a hundred varieties with a remarkable choice of more than 3,000 specimens from standard trees to ornamental shrubs. These have matured over the past four to eight years on a four-acre westerly-facing slope and we invite you to view these mature trees in natural surroundings to appreciate their full size and elegance.

Come and see us to achieve a beautiful instant garden, a practical and natural solution to screening issues, or simply to invest in the future of our children’s memories…

Our heritage and values

We have decades of experience of growing Christmas trees for the trade and for the public. We started growing ornamental trees and shrubs 6 years ago. We selected a westerly-facing, sloping 4 acre site as the perfect location for nurturing the plants. We have good, light loam soil and lots of Lancashire rain to ensure we get healthy growth. We don't overly trim or manicure our trees - we prefer the natural, healthy mature look. You won't need to wait for the trees to bush out and 'look like they belong'. Conservation is a key goal for the farm. We follow an ethic of using limited chemicals and traditional methods with the ultimate aim of leaving the countryside in a better condition than we found it.
